I have just flicked the switch on the Three Ducks Shopping Cart - it is now history! It is a sad, but I have had months to prepare myself and now I am more than ready to move on.
I am grateful to one and all who took advantage of the great sale prices during this last week's liquidation sale and I can see those orders beginning to arrive through my Canada Post delivery notices. You have some beautiful Jo Morton fabrics coming your way. I, too, have a nice collection as what remains now goes into my own fabric stash - bonus!
As for the Duck Chick (moi), a intense period of résumé writing begins. I completed two months of intense study in November and December for my Microsoft Office 2010 Specialist Certification. I wrote two exams on December 22nd and one on January 5th and passed all three and can now add the following logo to my cover letter and résumé...
Very nice! I plan to add to that logo by writing my Outlook 2010 exam by the end of the month; so, it is back to the books, too.
By the way, if you would like a great introduction to Microsoft Office (2010/2007/2003) and would like to master the basics I strongly recommend visiting the Goodwill Community Foundation's LearnFree.org website. You can read the tutorials and watch the videos at your own pace or if you need a little more structure you can register for the courses and be given assignments and deadlines. I did the latter prior to tackling Microsoft's Step-by-Step series of books. Goodwill has done a fantastic job on these and its other courses and it is all for free!
Now, it is time to email to my webmaster and let him know he can begin dismantling the cart and old "Home" website. Yesterday, I began moving over the tutorials and EQ software "tours" from the old site to this blog which is why "Quilter Blogs.com" has seen so many Three Ducks posts - I go apologize for the marathon of postings, but there is no way to temporarily turn off the connection. Hopefully, you have found the reading interesting.
My Three Ducks blog will remain up and running and hopefully I will be adding to my EQ7 tutorials in the fall. In the meantime, I am sure my Mom ("she who never stops quilting") will fill the gap...LOL!
Best wishes one and all in 2012!
