Mom's Civil War Tribute Quilt

I thought you might like to see my Mom's almost complete Civil War Tribute quilt. It returned from the machine quilter two days ago and today was my first peek at it. This was a BOM quilt designed by Homestead Hearth's Dolores Smith and Sarah Maxwell using Judy Rothermel fabrics from Marcus. Mom  worked on this quilt all last winter and into the spring and said it was challenging. She stuck with it and the quilt is beautiful. It is very big and I think stitching on the binding should keep Mom busy this winter!

Mom is now finishing up the quilt on the design wall. She finished piecing the corner blocks and is about to begin adding the horizontal sashing. It won't be long now before it, too, is sent off to be machine quilted. So, let's make that two bindings to be stitch over winter!
